I'm looking to sell my early 1900's Antique gravity handmade advertising knife/pencil sharpener. made of brass with an applied label around the middle promoting the Railroad Jones Oil company Winston Salem NC. it's made by the short & roehm company Newark nj makers of fine jewelry and knives. it's in excellent condition with no rust or Pitting on the blade and bright colors on the label. I believe it's roughly 3" long and a 1/4" wide. This is the only one I've ever seen anywhere promoting a very early oil company and never seen any other ones like it for sale or displayed. All others I have seen were plain Jane brass models and nowhere near the condition this one is in. If I had to guess I would say it's near mint overall. The Jones Oil company is still in existence today in Winston Salem NC and the company dropped the railroad part in 1938 after trucking became the way they transported everything. I'm including pictures of it along with a video for you to observe the knife and the condition it's in. This knife to me is the holy Grail of gravity knives with it advertising early American oil companies, Victorian period knives and early American Victorian advertising. I've had collectors tell me this could be the only one still in existence today and the condition is absolutely amazing with it being 125 plus years old...
